Questions and Answers
Can you build a laptop?
Unfortunately, I cannot build a laptop. Only large manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and much more make laptops. If you are looking to buy a laptop, I can give you a free suggestion on a reliable one that suits your needs.
Where do you source parts?
I have a part inventory that is sourced from donor computers if you choose to have used parts installed in your computer. For parts I don't have, I order them new or used depending on your preference. I typically like to order used parts as it is more sustainable and reduces e-waste. Majority of the time, new parts could come from Amazon, eBay, and Newegg and used parts could come from eBay.
How long does your repair service take?
About 1 week for upgrades, repairs, floppy disk transfers, and custom builds. For OS upgrades/reinstallations, it may take 1-3 days.
Which payment methods do you accept?
I accept check, cash, PayPal, and Venmo for payment. Also, I accept foreign currency from your travels that is still legal tender and in small denominations along with US cash because I am a collector of foreign money. Please contact me for more details.
Can you repair Macs?
Unfortunately, I do not offer repair service on Apple Macs because they are very hard to work on and they require special proprietary parts that I can't source. You can take your Mac to a Mac repair specialist or Apple if you need help with your Mac. I know how to use iOS very well though and I can assist you in using your iPhone if you need help but I don't do hardware repairs for iPhones either.
Where should I drop off/pick up a computer?
I will give you a drop off and pickup address once you have purchased a service from me. I value my privacy and do not want to disclose my home address to the public as my business is home based.
